Privacy Policy

ideaguystudios is a sole proprietorship operated by Aaron Shannon in Alberta, Canada. This page explains what this website collects, why, and what happens to it. Plain language, no lawyer-speak.

What this site collects

When you contact me. The contact form asks for your name, email, phone, company, subject and message. Phone and company are optional. That information is emailed to me and kept in this site's contact records so I can reply and remember our conversation.

When you book a meeting. Booking records the name and email you give, any details you add, and the time slot you chose.

Analytics. This site uses Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. It records aggregate numbers only: page views, referring site, country, browser and device type. It does not follow you to other websites. This site does not use Google Analytics.

Spam protection. Forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA. Google receives your IP address and interaction data for that purpose, under Google's own privacy policy.

Embedded content. Third-party embeds such as video and social posts are blocked by default until you choose to load them.

What I do not do

  • I do not sell your information.
  • I do not share it with advertisers.
  • I do not use it to build advertising profiles.
  • I do not send marketing email to people who did not ask for it.

Who handles data on my behalf

  • Odoo S.A. — website hosting, and the contact and booking records.
  • Plausible Analytics — aggregate, cookieless site statistics.
  • Google — reCAPTCHA spam protection, and Google Workspace for my email.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept while there is a reason to keep them, meaning an active or possible working relationship. After that they are deleted. If you want yours deleted sooner, just ask.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA federally, and Alberta's PIPA) you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email ideaguy@ideaguystudios.ca and I will action it. If you are in the EU or UK, the same requests apply to you under GDPR.

Cookies

This site sets only the cookies needed to make it work, such as session and security cookies. Analytics is cookieless. Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies when you use a form.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
